2. Order a Vermonster from Ben and Jerry's

Complete: 05/14/2012
Ice cream. Yum. Travel channel has some pretty great shows, especially ones where food's involved. That's how I was introduced to the Vermonster, a ridiculously large Ben and Jerry's ice cream sundae that could easily feed 10 as a stand-alone meal (definitely wouldn't recommend though because that's just too cruel to do to your body). From that moment, I knew that I would have to one day witness the monstrosity of the creation with my own eyes. This finally came to fruition in May 2012.

Our creation

A group of students from the college that I work for and I chipped in $5 each to order the colossal sundae to share after our end-of-semester appreciation dinner. Here's what we had in our creation:

~20 scoops of ice cream: Chocolate Therapy, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Triple Caramel Chunk, Pumpkin Pie, Vanilla Heath Bar, Americone Dream, Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz, Bonnaroo Buzz, Strawberry Cheesecake, Mint Chocolate Chunk, Milk and Cookies (some duplicate flavors since each person chose 2 flavors),
~2 scoops each of 4 toppings: Oreos, gummy bears, M&Ms, walnuts,
~4 bananas, 4 ladles of hot chocolate, 2 chocolate chip cookies, 1 chocolate fudge brownie, 10 scoops of walnuts, and TONS of whipped cream.

To say it was huge is a gross understatement. There were about 10 of us and we were totally ice creamed out. I had the honor of taking the bucket, which everyone who participated signed, and which I documented the flavors and toppings we ordered. Sweet (pun intended)!

Signed lid

If you want to attempt this feat, one suggestion is to skip on the fruity flavors of ice cream. When everything's all mixed together, it's not the most palatable combination.
